Sponsored Programs and Marketing
During my time at Hanley Wood, I worked closely with our Strategic Marketing Services division on all native advertising and sponsored programs related to Architect magazine.
Project 360 Sponsored Multimedia Editorial Features
Architect magazine’s Project 360 series are fully immersive sponsored editorial feature stories. Deeply researched, meticulously written, and gorgeously illustrated, these award-winning online features
Project 360: Goodyear Global Headquarters
For Goodyear Global Headquarters: Where the Rubber Meets the Road to Innovation, I led the editorial team on a freelance basis for this sponsored multimedia digital feature and acted as the liaison between all internal and external parties. I edited, fact checked, and proofread the excellent 2,500-word article by Gideon Fink Shapiro. I helped him coordinate interviews with experts and sponsors, and I managed all asset delivery of images and other interactive design elements.
Project 360: 181 Fremont
For 181 Fremont: A Skyscraper Poised for the Big One, we did an in-depth online feature about Heller Manus Architects newest iconic tower for the San Francisco skyline: 181 Fremont. Sitting kitty-corner from the city’s tallest tower—the Salesforce Tower—across the Salesforce Transit Center and the elevated park above it, the angular mixed-use office-and-residential tower is home to Instagram offices and luxury condos above.
On this project, as on the rest of the Project 360 series features, I helped to manage the content creation from start to finish, from initial planning and deadline generation through to final proofreads and publishing.
For the 181 Fremont online feature, I got to do more than managing and copy editing. Located in San Francisco, I had the opportunity to be on-site during the shooting and conducted all of the interviews. Here, I talked to Heller Manus president and architect Jeffrey Heller.
Here, I discus 181 Fremont’s life safety systems with Heller Manus senior designer Ryan Boe as well as Jeffrey Heller.
Here, I discuss how the tower at 181 Fremont resists wind and seismic loads with Arup associate principal Ibbi Almufti.

Sponsored Editorial Programs
As editorial-driven series, sponsors attached their names and advertising to these programs to drive awareness and attention from an audience they were trying very hard to reach.
One of our longest-running monthly series of sponsored editorial articles, Next Progressives celebrates up-and-coming architecture and design firms to be aware of.

Native Advertising
As advertising-driven pieces, these are more obviously ads and the quality is thus not quite as high, but I worked hand-in-hand with our Hanley Wood in-house marketing and native advertising division to make the best of the topics we could choose from, enhance the text and imagery as much as possible, and copy edited the text to make sure it was as close to our high standards as possible.
